Cristiane Cäsar is a PhD student, whose primary research interest lies in communication and social behaviour of Neotropical Primates. Her PhD research is focused on vocal communication and social relations in the black-fronted titi monkey, Callicebus nigrifrons, and she is supervised by Professor Richard Byrne and Dr. Klaus Zuberbühler. Her studentship is funded by CAPES (Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior – Brazil).

She coordinates a long-term field project in Brazil - “Projeto Guigó Minas” - which studies the behaviour and ecology of the black-fronted titi monkey both in the wild and in captivity.
