I am a Ph.D. student supervised by Prof. Malcolm MacLeod, and funded by the School of Psychology.
My research focuses on Ageism in general, and looks specifically at identification in older adulthood. As society primarily views aging as a negative process, I am interested in the different stereotypes surrounding older adults, and the strategies that this age-group use to respond to discrimination and prejudice. My research therefore focuses on age-related group membership, and explores the corresponding effects of this variable on psychological well-being in older adulthood.
