Dr. Maggie Ellis

Head and shoulders photo of Maggie Ellis   My main research interest is in the facilitation of communication between people with dementia and their caregivers. I have worked on the 'CIRCA' project: a multi-disciplinary collaboration looking at the appropriate use of technology to promote communication between people with dementia and their caregivers; and the 'Living in the Moment' project which developed a computer-based entertainment system for people with dementia to use independently. I am currently working as a Research Fellow on an ETAC funded project addressing ways of prompting people with dementia to complete everyday tasks in the home.

My doctoral research explored the practical application of facilitative techniques in promoting mutually meaningful interactions between individuals with advanced dementia and their caregivers.
